What to expect and the initial process with Stamford Sports Performance
Here, we will explore the route into Stamford Sports Performance and what you can expect along the way.
Initial Contact

There are a few ways you can make initial contact with us. You can download any of our free resources such as the warm-up programme, breakfast recipes which will add you to the mailing list where you will receive occasional resources to help inform you of things related to exercise, health, nutrition and many more besides.

There is also the Google Business Profile where you can view our reviews (when we get some). Along with links to the Stamford Sports Performance website and curated information from our blog.

The home page of the website contains information which explains more about why exercise will help your game and life. You can also read a short overview about the programme and some scope of practice statements which are useful to look at.

There is also a frequently asked questions page which lists most common questions related to exercise, strength and condition and personal training for golf. If you have any more questions which are not listed here, please use the form on the contact page where you can submit questions, and we will get back to you via email within 72 hours.

When you’re all informed and happy, you can start the enrolment process and by clicking on any of the sign-up buttons which liberally sprinkled around the website which look like the one below.

(don’t click this one, it’s just an example. There will be a proper button at the end of the article)

Clicking any of these buttons will take you to an intake form which looks like this:

There are a few questions to fill in which should take no more than 10 minutes, which gives us more information about you allowing us an idea of how we can help you. When finished, click submit at the bottom, the answers will be sent to us for review.
Strategy Session

After reviewing your information, a booking link will be emailed to you to set up a ‘strategy session’. This strategy session is an online video call, where we will expand upon the information you provided, along with other questions which may be relevant.

In this session we will work collaboratively to find out if our service is a good fit for you, and to lay the foundation of a plan on how we can help you to work together to get you the results you want, both in your golf and your health.

If there are any ongoing health concerns, these will be discussed, and where necessary we will ask that GP clearance is provided to ensure safety to exercise. We will provide you with a form for your GP to sign for them to say that are happy for you to engage in exercise.

Health conditions are not a reason for you to not be exercising, and our preference that you should be enrolled, and we can work together on an exercise programme, as it will help manage health conditions. However, please be aware that you may not be accepted into the service if there are any absolute contraindications, and you may be signposted to other, more relevant services.

Please understand that this is a collaborative coaching process. We don’t just ‘sell a workout programme’. We want to build a package around you, to offer the best for you, rather than try to shoehorn you into some generic programme which is unlikely to fit.

When we have an outline in place and you have agreed to sign up, we will take payment over the call. This will be in the form of a payment link which will be sent through the video chat, payment is made up front and in total. There are no credit options.

After you have signed up with us, you will receive a ‘Welcome Pack’ through email, giving extensive information on the programme, how things will be handled and how to interact with the service and what to expect at a deeper level, along with a First Week programme.
The Beginnings

The First Week programme involves some activities which are to lean on your newfound motivation help kickstart your new healthy behaviours.

You will be asked to follow these through and take pictures or screenshots of the filled in diary and to email them to us for review.

Towards the end of the first week, you will be emailed your nice new exercise programme for you to start on the following Monday! (Or the agreed days which you will exercise). You can either fill this in digitally or print it off for use. Your choice.

The time you will spend exercising is also something which will be agreed in advance, as we aim to fit the exercise around your life, not fit your life around the exercise.

Initial programmes are three months in length, with more programme lengths in the future, which again will scale in three-month increments. This is a realistic amount of time where you will see benefits from the exercise. No 28-day fads here.

The first week of your full programme will have additional support to help guide you through the early stages of your time with us and to make any adjustments to the programme if you feel they are necessary.

Same as the first week log, you will be asked to screenshot or take pictures of your completed diary each week and email it to us.

As you become more confident in your ability to carry out the programme, you will be given more freedom to go about things yourself, and more structured contact points, which will be agreed upon during the strategy session, will be put in place.
Ongoing Support

Ongoing support is the key to this service, and your results. Yes, you need motivation and effort to create the results you want... but willpower is a finite thing. This is where we come in: To provide that support and keep you on track (even if it means switching to another track).

Aside from the agreed contact points, there will also be ongoing monthly check-ins and measurements which will give you the opportunity to review the previous month and highlight any discussion points or concerns you may have and can request a call of you feel is necessary.

These are optional; however, we do encourage that communication as it allows both yourself, and us, to see how you are getting on and see about making adjustments if needed. Requests are responded to within 72 hours and a booking link will be sent out to organise a call at your convenience.

There are also weekly group video calls which, which are also voluntary, where you can pop on to ask any question or just have a chat and break up my admin work (please... do me that favour and hop on!).
If there are real emergencies and you need to make contact and require a response quickly, WhatsApp affords that channel, and we will look to get on a call at the earliest convenience.

We will also have a halfway review and a final review of the programme, to discuss how you feel you progressed, and to outline a plan for the next training block.
Summary

So, there is an outline of what to expect from the entry point and a brief overview of the level of support you can expect during your time with us.

You can view useful material on the website, and when you’re ready, click any of the buttons and complete the intake form to start the ball rolling.

From there we’ll have a strategy session via video call to see if we are a good fit for you, get you signed up and start you on your journey.

Support will be as much as you feel is necessary, with close contact over first few weeks, and more independence thereafter.

At the end we’ll discuss how you think the program went and explore options on how to move forward.

Again if you have any questions, you can get in touch through the contact form.

Alternatively, if you’re wanting to get signed up you can click the actually clickable button below (not an example) to get started.

Thanks,
Phil
