This is an initial 12-week programme tailored to your needs and designed to improve your golfing performance, whilst simultaneously creating positive changes and allowing you to lead a better and more active life. This is achieved by increasing your overall athleticism, fitness and health, along with working towards any other health or fitness related goals you set for yourself.
Who this programme is for:
The SWING Programme is designed specifically for men [sorry, ladies!] who are recreational golfers who want to play pain-free, move better, and improve their performance on the course. It’s ideal for those who are ready to invest in their physical wellbeing, whether you're returning to golf after time off, managing recurring niggles, or simply wanting to hit the ball further with less effort.
Who this programme is not for:
This programme is not for professional athletes or those looking for a generic fitness plan. If you are chasing quick fixes, unwilling to engage in consistent training [not having new exercises every week], or not interested in learning about your body and how it moves, then this may not be the right fit for you.
At present, this programme is not for ladies. Please read our announcement here for further information.
We’re here to support golfers who want to play stronger, for longer, without injuries holding them back.
IF YOU HAVE A PRE-EXISTING HEALTH CONDITION
This does not automatically exclude you from the programme, as we understand that exercise will help manage or improve chronic health conditions. However, this does mean that we would need additional information from you to better understand your condition, along with any other co-morbidities which you may have. We will require a detailed medical history, a list of medications and written clearance to exercise from your GP before we are able to commence the programme. Failure to provide any of this information will hold up your enrollment on to the programme.
Advice on how to obtain this information from your GP Health Record is detailed on the NHS Website.
This information will be held in confidentiality.
Your programme will be designed and delivered by those who have qualifications and experience in prescribing exercise to those living with long-term health conditions, allowing you to perform physical activity safely.
Evidence of this is available on request and can be validated on the Academy for Healthcare Science register for Clinical Exercise Physiologists.
